ABOUT NATIVE PLANTS
Exactly what is meant by a native plant? Native plants are particular species of plants that have grown in a certain area naturally and were, therefore, not introduced by humans. Native plants not only provide food sources for wildlife, but they also provide a sustainable and eco-friendly habitat. According to The National Wildlife Federation, native plants thrive in environments that match their growing requirements.
Local plants assume an essential part of the eco-system. The best habitat is one that is plentiful in native vegetation. These plants are imperative to the local species that depend on them, including birds, bees, insects and other animals. Native plants are a significant factor with regards to a bird's or bee's general way of life. They affect their eating habits and even their migration patterns It is important that we use native plants and that they continue to be around for years to come. These plants will keep on adding to and impact the different elements of environments. Because of habitat destruction by humans, it is important that we keep adding local plants into our own spaces in order to ensure that birds and other wildlife species can find reliable food sources and habitats.
